What changed in v3.8.2 — 2026-08-25
The release 3.8.1 could not be. The v3.8.1 tag points at a tree whose README still said
3.8.0, and the release gate did its job: the version test failed on both platforms and no
archives were published. This release is that tree with the README telling the truth — nothing
else changed. There is no v3.8.1 download, and the tag stays as the record of why.
