LYR-MIG0312
a string's length in characters
A note of lyric fix --from-4: a string's length() counted characters in Lyric 4 and counts bytes in Lyric 5; the migration writes charCount().
Explanation
Lyric 4's s.length() counted code points, in O(n); Lyric 5's counts bytes, in O(1), and charCount() counts what Lyric 4 counted. The migration writes charCount() everywhere, so the program counts as it did, and says so once a module.
Where bytes are what is meant — beside a slice s[a..b] or an index from find, which count bytes — write length(): it is faster, and it is what those positions count in.
